DryGrass Mower v1.0.0.0 for FS17
When a mower is used in-game, it puts down a grass_windrow. In order to convert this to a dryGrass_windrow, the grass_windrow must undergo a tedding process. However, not all regions of the world have hay that requires tedding. This script specialization will allow the mower to put down a dryGrass_windrow, allowing the player to bypass the tedding process in making hay.
This script is also intended to be used by those who use grass seed farming mods, such as those made by Modding Welt. BulletBill recently prepared a map of Lone Oak Farms. Grass seed is the primary crop raised on this farm in real life. It is cut into windrows using self propelled mowers just prior to harvest. The cutting process takes place at night (when the temperature is cool and dew toughens the grass) so as to minimize loss of grass seed during the cutting process. After the windrow dries sufficiently, it is harvested using a combine with a ‘belt pickup’ header.
Features:
(1) While mowing, the mod allows the player to toggle between dropping a grass_windrow and dryGrass_windrow using an initial input binding of RIGHT-CONTROL-G. Windrow status is noted in the mower’s F1 help menu.
(2) Mod can be adjusted using a text editor for additional realism pertaining to grass seed farming. If grass is cut for seed during the heat of the day, much of the seed ‘shatters’ out onto the ground, where it is not reachable by the combine. Upon activation, the script has functionality to mimic this loss, and will display the loss amount in the F1 help menu. Currently this feature is deactivated. See activation instructions in the readme.txt file accompanying the mod.
